Coral is a hugely recognisable brand thanks to its betting shops, which have been a mainstay of British high streets for decades. Online, aside from the sportsbook, you will also find the company’s poker, bingo, lottery betting and casino platforms.

The casino looks neat enough, with carefully organised thumbnails of the top-rated games available. From there, you can browse the different flavours of games on offer easily enough thanks to the handy search box.

  • A good selection of popular games
  • New live casino offers VIP tables
  • Mobile offering needs a revamp
  • Comp Points scheme isn’t terribly reasonable

It is a shame that the mobile site’s browser needs a bit of a redesign and that the app treats the casino as a bit of an afterthought, because the navigation is slick on both and the games play really well. Separating the casino from the sportsbook app and combining the numerous gaming apps into one would be preferable, as you are transported directly to the sportsbook when using the app and have to work your way through to the games via a tiny, easily missable icon next to the promotions menu. The design of the mobile site through the browser is a little lacking too, with icons off centre and a large amount of blank space for some reason. However, the mobile version of Coral Casino does have enough great games to play on the go to make it all worthwhile.

Coral Casino Games

Coral Casino has over 300 games available to play, which is mightily impressive. At the main casino they are all from the Playtech stable, so you should expect Frankie Dettori’s Magic Seven, White King and Gladiator amongst others. However, there are separate Games and Slots sections which include offerings from IGT and WMS as well. These additions can only be healthy for players wanting for a little variety.

Table games are also well represented, with a dizzying array of roulette and blackjack offerings alongside baccarat, Sic Bo, pai gow and craps, to name but a few.

Casino Gameplay

Browsing through the site isn’t as smooth as it could be on desktop, with some delays when clicking on certain pages. The mobile site and app also used to struggle with this but both are much improved in recent months.

Once loaded, the games work well on desktop and mobile, with the slickness and sharpness that you would expect from the largely Playtech-produced fare. You can play for fun if you download the software, which is a nice option for those wanting to test out a few games before putting down some cash. Each game features a useful summary so that you can figure out exactly what you want.

There are separate apps for roulette, the live casino and something called the Spin Casino, which includes a very limited amount of roulette, blackjack and slots games. Surely it would be better to make a standalone casino app, rather than expect people who like to vary their casino play to download four different incarnations of the same product.

A live casino offering was launched in November 2015, providing players with the chance to indulge in live blackjack, Hi-Lo, roulette, Hold’em and baccarat. There are also live VIP tables for those who consider themselves to be high rollers, even if they’re sat at home in jeans instead of suits.

Coral Casino Bonuses and Promotions

The welcome bonus at Coral isn’t great - you can deposit £10 and will be rewarded with a £50 bonus, which is subject to a 24x wagering requirement. Not all games contribute 100% towards this requirement and the bonus expires after just 28 days, so you have to act quickly otherwise the whole bonus balance (including winnings) will disappear.

The live casino bonus isn't any better as you have to buy in with £50 to receive a £50 bonus, but must then wager the amount 40 times before being able to withdraw winnings.

The company also hosts a few decent cash and bonus giveaways from time to time, in addition to a Comp Points loyalty scheme, though you only earn two points for every £10 staked on slots if you haven’t managed to move up the VIP ladder. There are also some nice weekly promotions, including the £5,000 Stake Race on Sundays.

Coral Casino has a great selection of games which should attract players to the decent desktop site. The Comp Points programme isn’t very good value for money unless you’re already wagering some large sums of cash. On mobile, it’s a shame that the main bit of the casino is hidden away in the background of the sportsbook app. A dedicated casino option would be preferable to having four separate apps clogging up your phone when one would suffice.
