Whilst the shopping experience attracted plenty of visitors to the opening day, the Genting Resorts World Birmingham complex has plenty more facilities that will soon be available to the general public. These include several bars, a dozen restaurants, a four-star hotel with 178 rooms, a Cineworld IMAX cinema, a spa, and more.
The complex has been designed to give visitors everything that they need in one place, from accommodation and dining to shopping and entertainment. That’s a lot to offer, and the site which makes it possible is understandably huge, boasting a total of more than 540,000 square feet across twelve stories.
Speaking before the opening, Peter Brooks, who is the President and CEO of Genting in the UK, said: ‘We are very excited, following a two-year build program, that Resorts World Birmingham is coming to life. We can’t wait for the first major milestone in that journey when we open our doors for the first time on October 21. There will be much more to experience at Resorts World Birmingham as the weeks go by and the resort becomes fully operational.’
He continued: ‘We have a full programme of exciting events between our opening day and the end of the year which will demonstrate the wide range of experiences available to our guests. We are thrilled that, for the time, Resorts World Birmingham will bring the uniqueness and excitement of a large scale integrated resort offer to the West Midlands region and beyond.’
There are now five Genting Resorts World venues throughout the world, with the other four being in Malaysia, New York City, Singapore and the Philippines. Birmingham might sound like the odd one out in that list of locations, but the Birmingham complex – which is located by the Genting Arena – is every bit as impressive as its cousins. A sixth Resorts World is currently being built in Las Vegas.
