To describe the refurbishment of the Grosvenor Casino in Nottingham as ‘major’ would be doing a great disservice to the work that has been carried out. The improvements which have been made are not merely cosmetic, but far more fundamental, and the structure itself has been altered to increase floor space by 1,500 square feet, bringing the total amount of floor space available to 14,800 square feet.
That additional floor space has enabled the casino to completely reinvent its layout in a way that vastly improves customer experience. Daren Brain, who is General Manager of the venue, has gone on record as saying that this is ‘the biggest and best refurbishment’ that he has ever been involved with, and when one considers that he has been working in the industry for more than three decades, and has overseen two previous casino refurbishments, his comment is even more impressive.
So what exactly can visitors of the refurbished Grosvenor Casino expect? Well, the sports bar is now located near the entrance of the building as opposed to the rear, and boasts multiple screens, including a monster 100 inch model. Food will be offered at the bar as well as at an in-house restaurant, and a stage will accommodate live entertainment acts. All of this will serve to make the venue just as popular as a general leisure facility as it will be as a place of gambling, and many will choose to visit for the sole purpose of enjoying a drink, meal or live music.
As far as gaming itself is concerned, visitors will get to enjoy a second slots area, VIP machines, an outdoor smoking-permitted gaming area which is heated for comfort, 15 gaming tables on the main floor offering roulette, blackjack and poker, and a separate card room with seven gaming tables.
The casino previously served more than 2,500 visitors each week, and it is expected that even more people will visit now that the £3.4 million refurbishment is complete. We wish Grosvenor Casino Nottingham a very successful relaunch this Friday, and look forward to seeing how the venue fares in the months and years ahead.
