A relaxation of the rules which determine the kind of apps that can be made available to owners of Android devices via the Google Play store means that players will be able to download and install official real-money gambling apps. This shift in position, which comes into effect this month for players in the UK, Ireland and France before potentially being rolled out to other territories at some point in the future, could help mobile gaming to become even more popular than it already is.

Until now, Android users were only able to download and install real-money apps to their devices directly from the casinos or sports betting companies which offered them. Because installation by that route can sometimes be tricky, particularly for mobile users who aren’t overly familiar with their devices, many people who might potentially be interested in gaming whilst on the move have not yet taken the step of getting involved.

Now that the rules about real-money apps have been relaxed, anyone of legal age will be able to find, download and install them via the Google Play store. That is a much easier way of going about things, and will no doubt encourage many to have a go at mobile casino gaming for the first time.

Two of the big names that have been quick to embrace the amended rules are 888 Casino and Coral Casino. The 888 Casino app provides a fantastic range of slots, live games and card games to play whilst on the move, and many of the titles on offer to mobile players are reformatted versions of their desktop counterparts, allowing players to enjoy their favourites no matter what kind of device they happen to be using.

The Coral Casino app will give its users access to all of the slots and casino titles that can be played on a regular desktop or laptop computer, and the company is offering separate sports betting and Coral Vegas apps for players to explore and enjoy.

We will no doubt see many more of the big gambling companies embrace the Google Play stance in the coming months, and we will flag up any major app releases as they are made available. For now, head to the mobile casino pages at 888 Casino and Coral Casino for more information, and good luck to those of you who choose to download and start playing.
