Playtech Sign Exclusive Deal with Warner Bros. for DC-Branded Content

Playtech has signed a multi-year branded games deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products for the exclusive rights to DC-branded content. The agreement, the largest in the company's history, will allow the gaming software giant to licence and develop a wide range of omni-channel casino games based on iconic characters from the DC universe.

With films including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight Trilogy and Suicide Squad providing inspiration for game designers, Playtech will aim to produce a variety of bingo, roulette and slot games that will be available to play across desktop, mobile and tablet devices.

This latest deal sees Playtech and Warner Bros. Consumer Products maintain their close relationship, following an initial licensing deal which was signed in February 2016. That agreement saw the gaming provider roll out titles that included Batman & The Penguin Prize, Batman & The Riddler Riches and Batman & Mr. Freeze Fortune.

The continued partnership has allowed this already hugely popular content to be made available across the UK, Italy, France, Norway and Romania, with all games featuring a shared DC Heroes Progressive Jackpot. In addition, all the games feature a series of tiered jackpots that will allow lucky players to profit from a plethora of prizes.

This latest deal has been praised by Playtech’s CEO Mor Weizer, who spoke positively about the successful history the two companies have shared: “This is a hugely significant deal for Playtech and we’re delighted to have a wider-reaching exclusive DC film- and TV-branded content licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. We’ve had phenomenal feedback from our licensees based on the high-quality and calibre of the DC-branded games we rolled out in 2016.”

This enthusiasm was shared by Warner Bros. Consumer Products President Pam Lifford: “We’re excited to grow our DC-branded offerings with Playtech and showcase many of DC’s iconic Super Heroes in these immersive, action-packed games,” she stated in a press release. “This collaboration speaks to our commitment to engage with fans in the growing gaming space and continue to offer players an on-going entertainment experience around the world.”
