Playtech was named Platform of the Year at the sixth annual EGR B2B Awards ceremony held in London last week. The awards recognise the achievements, innovations and quality of service provided by egaming companies in a wide range of industry roles, including the design and provision of gaming software, processing of payments and customer service.

Whilst Platform of the Year was the most eye-catching award won by Playtech, the company also won awards for being the best Bingo Supplier, RNG Casino Supplier and Multi-channel Supplier, so it will have to make plenty of room in its corporate trophy cabinet to accommodate these latest accolades.

Awards ceremonies pertaining to the online gambling industry might not attract as much mainstream media attention as those in the world of entertainment or sport (such as the BAFTA’s or BBC Sports Personality of the Year, for example) but they play an important role which shouldn’t be underestimated. The awards obviously recognise achievements and progress that has already been made by companies working in the industry, but they also motivate companies to work even harder in the future, tapping into their competitive spirit to push the boundaries of excellence even further.

Playtech was founded in 1999 and it is currently the world’s largest online gambling software supplier traded on the London Stock Exchange. It provides software for a comprehensive range of online gambling activities, including casino, poker, bingo, sports betting and more. It is also recognised as the developer of Omni-Channel gaming, and through Playtech One it enables players to seamlessly enjoy its games with a single account across multiple devices.

Regular readers may recall that Playtech was in the news earlier this month when it made its catalogue of online slots games available to its licensees in Spain, so it is clear to all concerned that it is just as committed to growth and expansion as it ever was. We congratulate the company on its success at the EGR B2B Awards and we wish it continued success in the future.
