Gaming enthusiasts in the Czech Republic are celebrating the launch of the nation’s first ever online casino. The new venue, which has already gone live, is being provided by Playtech with the Fortuna brand, and boasts a large range of Playtech’s slot and table game titles for both online and mobile players. Currently available titles include Age of the Gods, Gladiator and White King, and Fortuna will add further games to the range as time goes on.

UK-based Playtech made a deal with the Fortuna Entertainment Group last August to supply it with a scalable, multi-channel gambling software solution, and the partnership has already seen Fortuna launch an online offering in Romania. The Czech Republic granted a licence to Fortuna just last month to launch the country’s first online casino, and the company is now looking to launch in Poland and Slovakia.

‘We are delighted to be the first supplier to go live in the Czech Republic with our pioneering omni-channel platform technology and best-performing casino content and to further expand Fortuna’s offering in this newly regulated market,’ said Shimon Akad, who is Chief Operating Officer at Playtech. ‘We pride ourselves on being leaders in regulated markets and today’s announcement highlights just how we always aim to lead the way.’

Fortuna, which was launched in 2009 in the Czech Republic, but now also operates in the markets in Slovakia and Poland, is equally enthusiastic about the launch of the new venue.

‘We are proud to be the first company in the Czech Republic to have met the demanding conditions defined by the new legislation and to be granted a licence as a result,’ said David Vanek, who is General Manager at Fortuna. ‘Broadening our product range to complement our sports betting offering is a major priority. We are therefore very pleased that our customers will be the first to play online roulette and casino games in full compliance with Czech legislation.’

Vanek continued: ‘Granting this licence means that Fortuna has become the first multiproduct (sports and games) gaming company in the Czech market. Our new online casino and aggressive games expansion is crucial to growing the business and means the Fortuna product offering will be comparable to some of Europe’s largest operators.

‘Thanks to our close co-operation with Playtech, the industry’s leading online gaming technology company, we have a comprehensive range of best-performing products and the best gaming experience to offer our players.’

We congratulate Playtech and Fortuna on this achievement, and we are encouraged to once again see a British gambling company breaking new ground at the forefront of the global gaming industry. Casino enthusiasts in the UK who would like to play some of the games that Czech Republic players are now discovering for the first time can play Age of the Gods and White King at Paddy Power Casino.
