Casino 36 Ltd launched a £7.6 million super-casino in Wolverhampton last November, after being granted a licence to do so a little over two years earlier. That super casino has proven to be immensely popular, and so it isn’t any great surprise that the Casino 36 group are keen to repeat the exercise.
This time it is the people of Dudley who will benefit, and the new venue will boast two floors. The ground floor will be occupied by a bingo hall that will accommodate 450 players and offer 14 sessions each week. The casino will occupy the first floor, and offer the usual mix of traditional table games, including blackjack and roulette, and state-of-the-art slot machines.
The news that the new Casino 36 at Castlegate will offer bingo won’t be well received by the Mecca chain, which has recently secured planning permission to open its own bingo hall under the Luda name on Dudley High Street. That said, having two new bingo venues to choose from will be very good for players, and there is no reason why both won’t be able to thrive in such a well populated area.
Making bingo a key part of its plan for the new venue should encourage all fans of the game who might have harboured even the slightest doubts about its continuing popularity in the UK. Having both bingo and casino games on the new premises will also help ensure that this particular venue is viewed as being doubly attractive, and it would be perfectly reasonable to assume that fans of one gambling genre will be keen to take advantage of the opportunity to try the other on at least some of their visits.
Dudley residents will need to wait a little while before the launch of Casino 36 at Castlegate, but we are pleased with the development and we look forward to reviewing the venue in due course.
