Online casino software firm Microgaming has pledged £30,000 to be shared between four charities across the globe, as voted for by customers and important stakeholders in the Isle of Man enterprise. Microgaming’s Gift of Giving initiative is now an annual fixture, having being launched in 2013, and sees the business donate the cash to good causes, rather than spend it on Christmas presents.

The votes on where to distribute 2015’s pot have been tallied up and winners for the four regions were announced yesterday. Wish Upon a Dream, which provides special experiences to terminally ill children, is the chosen project on the Isle of Man, while cancer charity CLIC Sargent receives the funding in the UK and Europe category. Africa is represented by Save the Rhino and Cure Cancer Australia is the successful good cause from the rest of the world.

Gift of Giving is part of Microgaming PlayItForward, whose head, Claire Coleman, said in a press release that “over the past three years our Gift of Giving initiative has donated £90,000 to 12 incredible charities across the globe. I never tire of calling the charities after the votes have been counted to let them know they’ve won – it’s so heart-warming. Congratulations to all of the 2015 winning charities, and thank you to all our customers that voted.”

Microgaming PlayItForward aims to provide, in its own words, “an outlet for social good” on the Isle of Man, funding work in the fields of sport, education and health among others. Beneficiaries of Gift of Giving in previous years have included Médicins Sans Frontières, Hospice Isle of Man and the British Red Cross.

Microgaming provides the software that powers BetVictor Casino and 32Red, where you can play the company’s popular titles including the Game of Thrones and Jurassic Park slots. With every spin of the reels, you can help them raise valuable money for charity while giving yourself the chance to win a life-changing prize.
