“We had 1,400 RSVPs from our VIP list and most of them turned up,” said operations director Paul Sculpher. “It’s a challenging environment on an opening night because you get in far more people than you’ll ever get on any other night...we’ve all had a pretty stressful day, but so far, so good.”
Immediate reaction on social media showed that the casino’s initial visitors were more than impressed by the venue and the facilities on offer:
The big screen in Victoria Gate Casino is the best I've ever seen!! Gonna be class for world cups and the Euros !! ??????— AshleyTatler (@AshleyTatler) January 27, 2017
Sculpher put the success of the night down to the team spirit within the staff, stating, “I’m definitely happy so far, there’s been a lot of hard work put in over the last few months and it’s come to fruition today. It’s been a hard day, but a great day.”
The Leeds casino boasts a restaurant serving food sourced in the Yorkshire area, a cocktail and champagne bar and a live sports bar, as well as a host of table and slots games.
