The previous leg of the GUKPT took place in London from 25 June to 2 July, and it was George Alexander who emerged victorious in that event. George invested £550 and beat 448 other players to walk away with a first prize of £50,000 in London, and that wasn’t the first time he had achieved GUKPT success, because he had previously won £14,000 for an investment of £540 in April 2012.
There were no GUKPT events scheduled for August, but Grosvenor recently hosted a national Summer Sizzler tournament which ran over the Bank Holiday weekend, as well as 25/25 events in Luton and Brighton, so players haven’t been completely without opportunities to win big in recent weeks.
With the next wave of GUKPT action heading to Leeds, a whole new batch of players will be looking to replicate George Alexander’s success in September. Anyone who wants to try and win themselves a seat in the Main Event for a fraction of the cost of the direct buy-in will find satellites running at both Grosvenor Poker online and at Grosvenor Casino Leeds Westgate.
Those players who won’t be able to make the seventh leg of the GUKPT, as well as those who simply want to plan ahead, may want to make a note of the remaining events on this year’s schedule, which are as follows:
Leg 8 will take place at Grosvenor Casino Luton from 8 to 15 October.
Leg 9 will take place at Grosvenor Casino Blackpool from 5 to 12 November.
Leg 10 will take place at The Poker Room in London (above Grosvenor Casino Victoria) from 19 to 26 November.
Visit Grosvenor Casino and navigate to the poker section to find out more, and good luck to those of you who choose to get involved in GUKPT Leeds.
