Aspers was named Casino Operator of the Year Europe at the International Gaming Awards 2014 event that recently took place in London. The Aspers chain isn't the biggest, but it is certainly one of the best, as this latest award confirms. The brand's jewel in the crown is Aspers Westfield Stratford City, which is London's only super casino and boasts the biggest poker room in the capital. Other casinos in the chain are located in Milton Keynes, Newcastle and Northampton, so do visit those venues if you are in the vicinity and you fancy seeing what all the fuss is about.

The International Gaming Awards show is one of the most prestigious industry events on the calendar, and the awards themselves are often described as being the Oscars of the gaming world. The annual awards were introduced in 2008, so this year's event was the seventh. This is the first time that Aspers has won the Casino Operator of the Year award, but the company also had success at the 2013 event when it was named Socially Responsible Operator of the Year (Land Based).

There were plenty of other awards won at the 2014 event by a diverse range of companies. For example, the award for iGaming Software Supplier of the Year went to Playtech, whilst Mecca Bingo was named the Online Bingo Operator of the Year. The Online Casino Operator of the Year award went to Mr Green, PokerStars won the award for Online Poker Operator of the Year and Paddy Power was named the Socially Responsible Operator of the Year Online.

Well done to Aspers and to all of the other companies that won at the International Gaming Awards. It is always nice to see excellence being recognised, and we look forward to seeing what developments the winners have in store for players as the year unfolds.
