The official line-up of celebrities who are set to participate in the 2017 series is a closely guarded secret, but that hasn’t prevented bookmakers from offering speculative betting markets about who it thinks are the most likely contenders. Bets placed in these markets are normally accepted on a ‘non-participation, no bet’ basis, so if a celebrity doesn’t take part in the series, all stakes on that celebrity will be refunded to bettors automatically.
Because the betting markets currently open for Celebrity Big Brother 2017 are speculative, odds are available on many more celebrities than will participate, but some of the names that are currently being offered as potential contestants are as follows:
Scarlett Moffatt is one of the most popular stars of Gogglebox. She recently took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and emerged as the Queen of the Jungle. Scarlett has shown that she is willing to take a break from her daily life to make the most of her new-found celebrity status, but whether she will want to move into the Big Brother house within weeks of leaving the jungle remains to be seen.
Brian Dowling won Big Brother in 2001 and Ultimate Big Brother in 2010. Brian has built a successful career as a television presenter since his original appearance, and has hosted several seasons of Celebrity Big Brother, so it wouldn’t be a great surprise to see him return to the house in an effort to secure a third win in the franchise.
Charlotte Crosby is best known for her ‘role’ in the reality television series Geordie Shore, but she also appeared in Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, and went on to win that show. Whether she could win again if participating in another series is another matter.
Katie Price, formerly known as Jordan, is no stranger to reality television shows, having previously appeared in I’m a Celebrity in 2004 and 2009. Katie also participated as a late entrant in Celebrity Big Brother in 2015, entering the house nine days after everyone else and eventually leaving as the winner.
Other names that are currently being offered by bookmakers on a ‘no participation, no bet’ basis are former Shadow Home Secretary Ed Balls, recent X Factor contestant Honey G, gold medal-winning Olympic athlete Jessica Ennis-Hill and comedian Jack Dee. Paddy Power are even offering long odds on Nigel Farage and Donald Trump, but we highly doubt that those two individuals would participate in the show, let alone stand a chance of winning.
We will have to wait and see how the actual 2017 Celebrity Big Brother line-up compares with the speculative markets that are currently being offered by the bookmakers, but if you fancy taking a look at the full list of possibilities, visit Paddy Power today and good luck with any bets that you care to place.
