Sun Bingo is a bright, fun site with loads of bingo action and plenty of slots to keep you entertained. The only downside is a disappointing mobile option.

  • Lots of great games and chances to win big prizes.
  • Good selection of promotions and a decent welcome bonus.
  • The desktop site looks great and runs smoothly.
  • Disappointing mobile offering on both smartphone and tablet.

Anyone who likes to indulge in a bit of bingo on the go will be sorely disappointed by Sun Bingo’s mobile offering, which offers just two 90-ball bingo games and a handful of slots. The site loads quicker and runs more smoothly on a tablet rather than on a phone, but neither makes for a satisfying experience.

Sun Bingo-1 Sun Bingo-2

The Sun newspaper is a hugely recognisable brand and its bingo site is every bit as brash, bright and cheeky as you’d expect. The site is run on software provided by Gamesys, which also powers Virgin Games and Jackpotjoy.

There are plenty of options for those who enjoy 90-, 80- and 75-ball varieties of bingo in a number of clubs (not ‘rooms’ as with most other sites). If you win on one line, two lines or a full house in the Candy Club, you gain tickets for the daily and weekly All Winners games, which offer some fantastic cash prizes. It’s worth noting that even though you can play games in the Candy Club on tablets, you need to use your desktop for the All Winners games.

There is also Session Bingo, where you save money by paying for an hour slot rather than per game, and linked games where clubs join together to provide a big jackpot.

Away from the actual bingo games, there are slots, including Wonderland or Starburst, from a range of developers like NetEnt and Barcrest. You can also give roulette or blackjack a go or attempt to win big on the various scratchcards on offer. The site even offers a version of the card game Snap!

The desktop website is presented in bold, bright red and filled with some very sharp images, virtually all of which feature bingo balls in one way or another. It looks fun and enticing and is easy to navigate, with a multitude of games just a click or two away.

The mobile site is where things fall down, unfortunately. There is a poor selection of games, with pitifully few slots compared to the range offered on the PC. On a smartphone it takes an age to load and contains acres of blank space as well as blurred images. It judders and jerks and only offers two 90-ball games. Both feel like an afterthought and, if rumours of a revamped mobile site are true, it can’t come soon enough.

Sun Bingo has one of the liveliest and best populated chat communities around, with good luck messages, rants and jokes flying all over the place. It has a great friendly feel and the chat moderators play their part by joining in with the fun.

The site is keen to show off its winners and you will find a comprehensive section detailing players who have bagged large prizes and how they intend to spend the dosh. There is also a hugely informative page with easy-to-follow explanations about the numerous games on the site.

The Learner Room offers free bingo for the seven days after you open your account. It is open between 11am and 1pm and then again in the evening between 6pm and 8pm, and is a great way to learn about all of the features and to have some free fun!

Sun Bingo Bonuses and Promotions

The Sun Bingo Welcome Bonus allows you to receive 300 percent of your first deposit as long as it is between £10 and £66.67 – an odd amount, but depositing the maximum sum of cash does get you an extra £200 to play with. The money must be used in full within 30 days and needs to be played through twice before you can withdraw your winnings. Whilst 100 percent of money staked on bingo contributes towards the requirement, only 5 percent of slots stakes do, which is worth bearing in mind if you enjoy spinning the reels now and again. If you like playing video poker, blackjack, baccarat or snap games, you won’t see a penny go towards your wagering requirement.

There are plenty of other promotions to keep you coming back too, from offers of shopping vouchers to discounted tickets and, of course, cold hard cash. It’s worth checking back regularly for new deals or competitions, as you could scoop some amazing prizes.

Sun Bingo is a fantastic option for online bingo, up to a point. With no mobile app, a terrible smartphone site and limited options on tablets it is in danger of missing out on players who enjoy the convenience of being able to play on the go. The customer support is great, with all queries answered as quickly as possible.

On desktop it is one of the best around - it’s lovingly designed with loads of games to play and a huge number of other players to interact with. If they can just sort out the mobile option then it will be difficult to beat!
