Sun Bingo Set to Leave Gamesys Platform for Virtue Fusion

Sun Bingo will make its long awaited platform switch to VF 2011 Limited (Virtue Fusion) from Entertaining Play Limited (Gamesys) by the 23rd of August, having signed a deal in November 2015. Virtue Fusion, a bingo division of Isle of Man based software giant Playtech, will also acquire Fabulous Bingo as part of the agreement.

Since its launch in 2005, Sun Bingo has become one of the UK’s big hitters in the online bingo industry, while Virtue Fusion currently provides bingo services for a wide range of companies, including Gala Bingo, Mecca Bingo, Paddy Power and William Hill. The News UK gaming site had originally been supported by Tombola, a deal that expired in 2008 when Gamesys, owned by Entertaining Playm, took the reins. However, after a lengthy association, Playtech saw its opportunity to poach Sun Bingo and leave Gamesys reeling from its largest hit since selling some of its other customer-facing brands to the Canadian Intertain Group in February 2015.

Speaking to Gaming Intelligence at the time of the deal, Playtech executive Mor Weizer said: “The Playtech-powered Sun Bingo will use cutting-edge technology to offer best-performing and highly innovative bingo and side games, with fantastic promotions and prizes and the industry's largest jackpots.” This is a fantastic partnership that is aligned with our ongoing strategy of working with the best operators and media brands in regulated markets.”

The change will require customers of Sun Bingo to agree to the transfer of their account and funds, as well as accepting a range of new terms and conditions, a privacy policy and updated bonus rules  as set out by the new provider. Users who are unwilling to switch platforms will be required to close their Gamesys account, an action that will see any funds currently credited to that account refunded. As part of the transition, the operator has already taken the step of removing all networked progressive jackpot slots, while all progressive jackpots on bingo games will remain available until Tuesday 23rd August, with only Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo members being permitted into the bingo room.
