With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, Mecca has taken the unusual step of asking for couples who came together thanks to their mutual fondness for bingo to get in touch and share their story. And there’s a special treat in store for those who do.
As part of the special romantic promotion, a number of Mecca clubs have offered to give selected couples whose eyes first met across the bingo boards a free night out at the venue on Valentine’s Day. To make the evening extra special, they’ll also receive flowers, drinks, and a slap-up meal to help them celebrate both their love and the fact that bingo brought them together.
"Valentine's Day is a very special day for couples,” said club manager of the Beeston, Nottinghamshire branch, Sarah O'Neill. “What better way to help celebrate that loving feeling than by treating local bingo lovers with a special gift."
The club is asking couples from the local area to get in touch with them via email and to share their romantic tales with them.
With bingo now more popular than tennis in the UK and bringing people from the local area together, it’s not surprising that new romances should sometimes blossom between calls and amidst the soft patter of dabbers.
