Adele Lawton Becomes Head of Bingo at Foxy Bingo
Adele Lawton has taken on the newly-created role of group head of bingo at gambling giant GVC, which runs the popular online offering Foxy Bingo as well as a number of other sites. Lawton brings a wealth of experience to the position, garnered from high profile roles within other gaming firms including Bet365, Sky Bet and Gala.
Lawton took up her new position this week and answers directly to group CEO Kenneth Alexander, with the move separating the running of poker and bingo within GVC. Alexander was quoted in a press release from the company as saying, “Adele's appointment reflects our strategy to attract the best in the industry. Her considerable experience will help drive our growth ambitions for our portfolio of bingo brands including the iconic Foxy Bingo."
The new post was deemed necessary after GVC bought out Bwin.party in February of this year, acquiring such sites as Foxy Bingo and Party Bingo in the process. It is one of a number of mergers and acquisitions in the gambling industry to be announced in recent months, with Gala Coral and Ladbrokes joining forces and Paddy Power and Betfair hooking up. However, William Hill is reported to have rejected a takeover bid by 888 and Rank Group in the last 24 hours.
