The vast majority of news stories and articles that appear at Gamble.co.uk are painstakingly sourced, researched and written by a dedicated team of five expert journalists. Although all of our journalists share the same goal of presenting you with the most important and relevant information, they don’t necessarily share the same online casino interests. For this reason, each member of our team is assigned to specialise in the area about which they are most knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Brief details about each of our five writers are presented below so that you can see who writes what. Having these details won’t affect the relevance of the information you read, but it will give you an insight into the people who are delivering it to you.
Michael is our top writer and he covers general casino news as well as general strategic betting subjects. As well as having a broad interest in the entire spectrum of online casino gambling, Michael is an expert in systems and also one of the most rational and objective people that we know. If you ever read an article at Gamble that pooh-poohs ideas such as using systems, good luck charms or sequences of past results to try and win cash at online casinos, the chances are high that Michael had a hand in it
Jon is our online blackjack writer and has been interested in the game of blackjack ever since he first read Beat the Dealer by Edward Thorp in what he mysteriously refers to as the ‘early 1970s’. When the online blackjack scene came along he was keen to check it out, and although he wasn’t able to make a killing by card counting (which is rarely effective online) he was pleased to discover that adhering to basic strategy can still be very profitable.
Miriam has been an avid fan of slots ever since she first dropped a penny into a slot machine on Brighton pier as a schoolgirl. Now, a couple of decades later, she enjoys playing the much more entertaining online games and – when we can drag her away from the screen – she writes most of our online slots content and is much busier than Jon, as she keeps telling everyone who'll listen. Miriam also says that she loves writing about online slots so much that she would continue to come to work even if she won a Mega Moolah jackpot, and we’re going to hold her to that.
William is our online poker journalist, and an extremely dedicated player in his own right. When he’s not playing the game he’s writing about it for Gamble, and when he’s not doing either of those things he’s invariably got his head in a book by Doyle Brunson or Dan Harrington. Always on the lookout for value for money, William can sniff out a potentially lucrative online tournament faster than most people can grab a beer from the fridge.
Ben is our sports betting expert. He’s the one who always comes into the office with a copy of the Racing Post under his arm just in case the web version ever goes offline – or at least that’s what he tells us. What Ben doesn’t know about odds, dutching, arbitrage and other important sports betting concepts simply isn’t worth knowing, so when he tells you to look into a certain sports betting market or promotion it is always worth heeding his advice.
As you can see, our hand-picked team of online gambling journalists has a vast amount of expertise, and all of that knowledge and enthusiasm is passed onto you via the news and information articles that are published here at Gamble.co.uk. In fact, the only thing that they don’t pass onto you is an invite to their annual Christmas Party, but trust us, they aren’t all they’re cracked up to be and we only go ourselves so that you don’t have to…
If you want to come to the Christmas Party, or more importantly, you spot a mistake or something that you'd like to see covered on Gamble.co.uk, please drop a line to us:
