Deuces Wild

Deuces WildDeuces Wild is a video poker game where all of the deuces (number 2 cards) in the deck can be counted as wild. This makes it easier to land winning combinations, and for that reason the minimum hand that needs to be made in most Deuces Wild games is a Three of a Kind. This differs from other video poker variations where the minimum hand required for a payout is generally a pair of jacks or better and where prizes are also paid for Two Pair.

As in most other video poker games, Deuces Wild players can bet anything from 1 to 5 coins on each hand, with the maximum number of coins giving you a significantly better return on outlay should you hit the jackpot. A typical Deuces Wild payout schedule looks something like this:

  1 COIN 2 COINS 3 COINS 4 COINS 5 COINS
Royal Flush 250 500 750 1000 4000
Four Deuces 200 400 600 800 1000
Wild Royal Flush 20 40 60 80 100
Straight Flush 9 18 27 36 45
Four of a Kind 4 8 12 16 20
Full House 4 8 12 16 20
Flush 3 6 9 12 15
Straight 2 4 6 8 10
Three of a Kind 1 2 3 4 5

Because the deuces are wild in this game, almost all experts agree that players should always hold any 2 card even if none of the other cards are worth holding. Of course, some might argue that discarding a deuce could result in a better hand after the draw (for example, when discarding a deuce to try and get a Royal Flush instead of a Wild Royal Flush) but whether one should sacrifice a ready-made hand in the hope of landing an even better one is something that each player must decide for himself.

Some Deuces Wild video poker games give the player the chance to gamble their winnings in a double or nothing round at the end of the hand. Again, whether one takes advantage of this option or simply collects the prize that has already been won is a matter of personal preference.

The Deuces Wild game at 888 Casino (review here) is as good as any and can be played in practice mode as well as in real money mode, so try the game for free to see how you like it and go from there. Good luck!
