Sports Betting Picks

Sports betting picks are selections or predictions that are commonly advised by tipsters as good things to bet on. Whilst some newspapers provide sports betting picks for free, most tipsters charge a fee for their picks. But is it really worth spending money on sports betting picks that may be no better than your own?

Our answer to this question is no, it is rarely worth actually paying for sports betting picks, and there are several good reasons for us reaching this conclusion:

First, sports betting picks are not guaranteed winners, no matter what the sales pitch says. They might be selections that have a high probability of winning based on the previous form of the competitors involved, but that still leaves room for sports picks to lose, and that happens more often than many tipsters would like to admit. If that weren’t the case then online sports betting sites would have gone out of business a long time ago.

Next, consider the source of so-called ‘professional sports betting picks’. If you had found a way to pick a multitude of winners like clockwork, would you be prepared to sell your tips to any Tom, Dick or Harriet for a few measly pounds or dollars? Probably not. Instead, you would bet on your selections yourself and make a lot more money with a lot less hassle. In fact, the only reason we can think of selling sports betting picks is because the person selling them makes more from subscriptions than he could from betting – probably because his picks aren’t nearly as good as he makes them out to be.

Last, but by no means least, we would highlight the fact that anyone can learn to assess form and come up with their own sports betting picks.
