Online roulette software is software that is supposedly designed to help you generate guaranteed profits from the game. We say supposedly because if there was really a guaranteed way to beat online roulette or any other game, online casinos would have gone out of business long ago.
Online roulette software comes in many guises, but almost all of them ‘work’ in pretty much the same way – by keeping track of the previous numbers that have come up and providing advice (either general or specific) on where you should place bets on future spins. Some software applications will also tell you how much to bet based on your previous successes/failures and the odds available about the bet that has been advised.
The marketing literature for online roulette software titles is generally very compelling, and can include graphs, charts and records of profits. However, all that glitters is not gold, and it is relatively easy to show a theoretical profit for any roulette system if you are careful about the results you choose to include in your sample. Unfortunately, when you are betting in the real world you can’t conveniently leave out losing runs in advance, so all profit claims should be taken with a huge pinch of salt.
Making guaranteed profits from roulette is impossible unless you happen to own an online casino yourself, in which case the built-in house edge will ensure that you win over the long term. Unfortunately, it is that same house edge that ensures players will lose over the long term, and no online roulette software on your PC will alter that basic mathematical fact of life.
Whilst charts showing ratios of black and red or high and low numbers are all well and good, and being able to see how many times specific numbers have succeeded or failed can be interesting (if you really have nothing better to do), they really give no clue to the outcome of the next spin of the roulette wheel. Each spin is a completely independent event, so whatever has happened in the last 50, 500 or 5,000 spins is irrelevant – the roulette wheel has no consciousness and any predictions that happen to come true would be nothing more than coincidence.
The bottom line, therefore, is that online roulette software applications are only guaranteed money-spinners for the people selling them. For online players they serve no practical purpose and will merely reduce the size of your bank balance. Buyer beware!
