Race to Dubai

Race to DubaiThere will be a whopping 53 tournaments in the inaugural Race to Dubai that gets underway on 6 November, 2008 with the HSBC Champions at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai. The eventual winner will receive $2 million, the runner up will get $1.5 million and the remaining $6.5 will be shared between the next thirteen players, with the smallest prize being $250,000.

There are five new tournaments in the competition. These are the Czech Golf Open, the Canal + Open, The English Open, the Volvo World Match Play Championship and The Dubai World Championship. Although the inaugural Race to Dubai competition runs from November 2008 to November 2009, future competitions will be scheduled to take place in a single calendar year.
