Record Deal or No Deal Jackpot
A woman has won £965,725 playing Deal or No Deal at Jackpotjoy, smashing the previous record jackpot by over £330,000.
Emira B, who is 27 and from Dewsbury in West Yorkshire, was shell-shocked when she won the record-breaking jackpot. “Thank you so much,” she said. “I'm in shock. It's unbelievable. I've just told my family. They sort of believe me! They didn't even know that I played. I told them to look and that I'd won the Jackpot. It's not sunk in yet. Oh my God.”
The Deal or No Deal slots game at Jackpotjoy has five reels, twenty pay lines and a bonus stage that allows players to perform in the same kind of game that contestants experience on the Channel 4 television show presented by Noel Edmonds. When the bonus is activated by the appearance of three Deal of No Deal bonus boxes on the reels, the screen displays 26 boxes. The player picks one of these as their own, and then eliminates several other boxes in each of five rounds. As each box is eliminated, so is the prize that the box contains.
In between each round The Banker calls the player by telephone and offers them a deal. The player then has to decide whether to say Deal or No Deal, based on the prize values that are still up for grabs and their own intuition about the value of the prize in the box they originally selected.
Luckily for Emira, her intuition was spot on as she progressed through all five rounds of the bonus game and emerged as the winner of the biggest Deal or No Deal jackpot in Jackpotjoy’s history. Now that she is almost £1 million richer than before she logged on and started playing, she is thinking about how to spend her cash.
“I haven’t an idea what I’ll spend the money on yet, but me and my family will be sorted,” she said. “I've got to go to work tomorrow but I don’t know if I'll go. I work as a beauty therapist in a salon. Hopefully I'll get my own now. I can’t believe it!”
