Vegas Downtown Blackjack

Vegas Downtown blackjack is very similar to regular blackjack, and the aim is to get a higher hand than the dealer without busting.

The specific rules which mark is as different from other blackjack games are as follows:

• Only two standard decks of cards are used.

• The dealer peeks for blackjack if his up-card is a 10-value or ace.

• The dealer hits a soft 17 but stands on hard 17 or higher.

• Players can split any two 10-value cards (such as QJ).

• A winning blackjack is paid at 3:2.

• All other winning hands are paid at 1:1.

Regular Vegas Downtown blackjack is generally a single hand game, though in some casinos multi-hand games are available. These allow you to play several Vegas Downtown Blackjack hands simultaneously – something that is good news for those of you who play according to perfect basic strategy but a fast track to the poor house if you play by the seat of your pants.
