Multi-Split Blackjack
Multi-Split Blackjack is a game that tends to go unnoticed, probably because many people assume that it’s the same as Multi Hand Blackjack. It isn’t the same as Multi Hand Blackjack at all, but Multi-Split Blackjack is certainly well worth taking a look at if you’re a serious online Blackjack player.
If we had to summarise Multi-Split Blackjack in one sentence, we would say that it is exactly the same as a standard single-player game, but it allows you to re-split cards up to three times. This is in stark contrast to single-player games that don’t allow any re-splitting of cards.
To understand why re-splitting is such a good deal, you only have to do the maths. If you are dealt 88 you would normally split to create two new hands with an 8 in each instead of standing on a bad total of 16. If another 8 were dealt to either of your new hands and you were playing regular single player blackjack, you would have to play the hand as a 16 and decide whether to stand or hit. However, in a game of Multi-Split Blackjack you would be able to re-split the 88 and improve your odds of making a better total.
Every time you re-split you need to bet the same amount as your original bet to create the new hand, so you shouldn’t re-split every time you have the opportunity to do so, but only when success would give you a good chance against the dealer.
For example, if the dealer’s up-card were an 8 and you were dealt 77, you wouldn’t split because doing so would create two hands, each with a 7, and even if you hit a 10 value card you would still only have 17 for that hand. Of course, if the dealer’s up-card were a 7 and you were dealt 88, you would split in the hope of making two 18 value hands, instead of standing on 16.
Splitting or re-splitting 10 value cards is never recommended because it is generally better to stand on 20 than to risk ending up with 19, 18 or an even worse total.
For those of you who like the additional challenge and opportunity that re-splitting allows, Multi-Split Blackjack is a game that will keep you entertained for hours. But don’t just take our word for this – why not visit InterCasino and try Multi-Split Blackjack for yourself?
