Baccarat Progressions

Baccarat progressions are staking sequences that many players use to try and make an overall profit from a single session of baccarat when betting on even money shots. For example, Martingale baccarat progressions start with a stake of 1 point and then doubles after every losing game, reverting to 1 point when you have a winning hand.

Martingale baccarat progressions generate around 1 point profit after every winning game, but they are dangerous because stakes can increase very quickly. For example, if you go six games without a winning hand, your stake on the seventh game would be 64 points. Six games without a winner when betting on even money shots might sound unlikely, but it’s actually very common, so you would need deep pockets to use Martingale baccarat progressions regularly and not get yourself in serious trouble.

It is because baccarat progressions like the Martingale can be so dangerous that several gentler baccarat progressions have been adopted by serious online baccarat players. These gentler progressions don’t absolutely guarantee a profit when you get a winner, but they are worth considering if you are the type of person who gets bored with level stakes. Here are two to get started with:

1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8
This is known as the Fibonacci baccarat progression. You stake 1 point on the Player or Banker and if you lose, you stake 2 points on the next hand, and so on. As soon as you get a winner you stop betting or go back to the beginning of the progression. If you get six losing hands in a row, you stop betting and walk away with a loss of 20 points.

1 – 1 – 2 – 2 – 3 - 6
This baccarat progression is even gentler than the Fibonnacci, and although that makes it a bit trickier to generate a profit, it can help to claw back losses and improve your chances. For example, if you have two losing hands and then a winner, you will only break even. Of course, this is still better than losing 1 point as you would if betting to level stakes.
